Air Duct Cleaning

Do You Need Air Duct Cleaning ?

One of the most popular questions our customers ask when they begin researching is how the air duct cleaning process works and how one is to determine whether the vents need cleaning or not. 1. Use a screwdriver, remove a floor or wall register. 2. Using a mirror and flashlight, observe the condition of the ductwork. If you see that the vent contains any visible dust or debris, it is time to get the ducts taken care of. What You Need To Know About Duct Cleaning Air Duct Cleaning is a lot more complicated than just blowing out the vents in your home. Your air ducts are only part of the overall Heating Ventilation and Furnace System, which include the following components: Return vents, Supply vents, Coils ,Drain pan, Vent registers, Air plenum, Blower, Motor and Assembly, Heat Exchanger, Air Cleaner & Air Filter. The main reason why residential homes should have their ducts cleaned is because they accumulate dust! This accumulation can be the cause of a myriad of problems, including increased need for dusting, poor heating and cooling performance, and musty odors. While normal, repeated cycling of dust in a home can increase the need for air duct cleaning, other factors may push the air duct cleaning timetable forward even more, including: * Pets * Occupants with allergies or asthma * Cigarette or cigar smoke * Water contamination or damage to the home / Furnace system * Home renovation or remodeling projects

The problem

Your HVAC system is the heart providing climate control for the comfort of your family and guests. The same dirt, pollen and contaminants deposited in your carpet can also be collected and circulated in the air system. Dirty Systems and Bad Air Build Up Gradually, according to the American Lung Association, poor indoor air quality is a major cause of days lost from work and school. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says a build-up of dirt on heating or cooling coils can result in a 21% decrease in HVAC system efficiency.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

On a rainy day the first thing you want and need is for your dryer to work efficiently. Cleaning your dryer vents not only helps maintain the machine but helps it work more efficiently, and extends the life of the machine. Did you know that almost half of the lint produced in clothes drying escapes past the filter and gets trapped in the exhaust vent pipe? If the vent is clogged, your dryer can do its job properly, causing your clothes not to dry as quickly as they normally would. This can double your energy costs for the dryer or even more. If the vent becomes extremely clogged, it can become a fire hazard. If the hot air does not have an escape route, the dryer will become excessively hot, which could result in a fire. Your dryer vent hose and pipe should be cleaned annually to maintain efficiency and prevent fire risks.
Contact us immediately if:
* It takes more than one cycle to dry a load. * Your clothes are too hot to touch after drying. * The lint screen doesn’t capture any lint. * Your dryer shuts itself off unexpectedly. With the purchase of any duct cleaning service LServices uses a special air snake to clean dryer vents. It loosens lint, debris, and dirt, which are then removed by our powerful van-mounted vacuum. In addition to the the air snake, we also clean all areas inside the dryer that collect lint.

PATRIOT CARBON: UV LIGHT PURIFICATION

WHAT IS IT?

Patriot Carbon is an air purification device that can be installed within your air ducts to improve indoor air quality throughout your home. The unique design of Patriot Carbon addresses both biological and chemical contaminants found in indoor air that standard air filters do not catch. Patriot Carbon’s core components are a UV-C lamp and activated carbon cells. This combination of UV-C light and activated carbon achieves unmatched microbial and odor reduction without producing any harmful ozone.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Patriot Carbon is installed in the ductwork of your central air system so it can treat the air circulating through your system. As airborne contaminants pass by in the air stream, Patriot Carbon removes and sterilizes them.

  • UV-C Light: Patriot Carbon’s UV light acts as a catalyst for airborne microbes. Exposure to this UV-C light destroys bacteria, viruses, and other biological pollutants in your air.

  • Activated Carbon: At the heart of Patriot Carbon is a matrix of activated carbon cells. These cells attract and hold odors and chemical contaminants. The cells are self-cleaning and the system is virtually maintenance-free.

When these two components work together to purify your air stream, the result is cleaner, healthier, and fresher indoor air.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • Neutralizes odors & toxic VOCs

  • Fights mold, bacteria, viruses

  • Inhibits HVAC mold growth

  • Improves indoor air quality

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Indoor air pollution is often five times worse than outdoor air pollution. Allergens, particulate matter, mold, germs, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are common indoor pollutants that diminish indoor air quality. Air filters in typical HVAC systems can remove larger contaminants like allergens and particulate matter, but germs and VOCs (chemical vapors) are small enough to still flow through the filters and remain in your air stream. The only way to remove these is with the addition of an air cleaner, or purifier, like Patriot Carbon. Patriot Carbon is especially effective against potentially toxic VOCs, which are the source of nearly all bad smells

Biological Contaminants

  • Allergens

  • Mold

  • Bacteria

  • Viruses
